The Compost Council
of Canada is a national non-profit, member-driven organization
with a charter to advocate and advance organics residuals recycling
and compost use. It serves as the central resource and network for
the compost industry in Canada and, through its members, contributes
to the environmental sustainability of the communities in which they
operate.

Ontario Environmental Bill of Rights Registry We are SO pleased to let you know of the following posting that has just happened on the Ontario Environmental Bill of Rights Registry. Rather than go into our own summary of the details .... here is the notice ---- An Update of Ontario's Compost Guideline and Regulatory Framework (EBR 010-6658 ) ---- Am also attaching the overview go-forward strategy that was developed with the MOE through input from our industry in 2005 ... the updating of the regulatory framework has been a key component in the work that has been our collective focus in recent years. Today's announcement allows us to help further advance compost's importance in Ontario to achieve the important environmental and economic objectives that are needed to create sustainability. We have all long worked on this major happening for the compost development in Ontario. Thanks to the MOE for making this day and posting happen ... and for all our members for giving of their support and trust over the years as this has been nurtured. Susan |
