The City of Guelph's entry, a 182 kilogram golden beauty, is the pride of Guelph's composting team, led by Trevor Barton. The $500 prize will be donated to the Guelph Enabling Garden, a multi-use garden designed to accommodate gardeners of varying degrees of cognitive and physical ability.

The $500.00 Cheque was presented to David Daniels, Kevin Wentzell and the Lunenburg Recycling & Composting Facility for their 184 - kilogram winning pumpkin in the 3rd Annual Compost’s Giants growing contest.

Beth Cavers, Organics Recycling Coordinator for The City of Kelowna, and her team grew the award-winning 185 kg (408 pounds) Giant Pumpkin as part of The Composting Council of Canada’s 2nd Annual Great Pumpkin Growing Contest.

2002 - David McCallum, Hanover, ON
272 kg / 600 lbs

McCallum grows ‘em big with compost and is the National Winner of the First Annual Great Pumpkin Growing Contest sponsored by The Composting Council of Canada. McCallum, who’s been a pumpkin growing hobbyist for a number of years, designated his $500 prize to the Walkerton Heritage Water Garden.
